You reserve your place with $30 per person online, which comes off the trek price rather than sitting on top of it, and you hand the rest to your guide in cash on Lombok. Once three or more trekkers have paid the deposit for the same departure date, everyone paid on that date moves to the group rate: $190 instead of $210 on the 2-day, $225 instead of $250 on the 3-day. That price only ever drops, never rises, even if someone cancels later. To hold a place you pay a deposit of $30 per person online. It is part of the price, not on top of it, and the rest is a fixed rupiah amount you hand your guide on Lombok, so it does not move with the exchange rate between booking and arrival.
What is in the price, and what is not
All-inclusive means the mountain is covered end to end. What it does not cover is getting yourself to Lombok, and what you choose to give at the finish.
Included in every package
- Private transport. Pickup anywhere on Lombok and drop-off in Mataram, Senggigi or Bangsal Harbour.
- The night before. One night's hotel accommodation in Senaru village, before the trek starts.
- Every meal on the mountain. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, hot drinks and mineral water.
- All the camping gear. Tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, toilet tent and cooking equipment.
- Licensed guide and porters. The people who carry, cook and get you back down.
- Park entrance and permits. Rinjani National Park, 250,000 IDR per person per day, arranged for you.
Not included
- Personal hiking gear. Boots, jacket, headlamp, trekking poles. Rentable locally; our full gear list says what you actually need.
- Travel insurance. Required, and your policy is checked before the permits are arranged.
- Tips for guides and porters. Optional, never expected, and they go straight to the team at the end.
- Personal expenses and souvenirs. Whatever you spend on yourself around the trek.
- The fast boat or flight from Bali. Getting to Lombok is on you; the transfer from the port or airport is not.

For a 3-day trek, add $40 to $50 for the package difference and slightly higher tips. There is no cheaper legitimate way to trek Rinjani with a licensed guide, which is worth knowing before you compare this against a quote that leaves the permit out.
The 2026 park rules, and why cheap treks are cheap
Rinjani trek prices run from $80 to $450 and up for what looks like the same route. The gap is licensed guides against unlicensed ones, permits included against permits extra, meal quality, porter wages and insurance. Several of the rules below are new for 2026. They are not our rules. They are the national park's, and they apply to every operator on the mountain.
Every group is led by a licensed guide
A licence is checked at the trailhead, and it is one of the reasons a $90 package is $90: a cheap trek puts ten or twelve people behind a single guide, which is exactly when nobody notices that someone at the back has stopped drinking.
Porters carry a maximum of 25 kg
Under the old free-for-all a porter took whatever fitted, sometimes 40 kg, in flip-flops. The cap means more porters per group, which costs more and is the point.
Permits run through e-Rinjani and are tied to your passport
You get a QR code that is checked at the gate. The name on it has to match your passport, which is why we ask for a photo of it before the trek. A permit bought under someone else's name does not get you through.
Trekking insurance is compulsory
Since March 2026 the park requires it, so a policy covering trekking to 3,726 m is no longer a nice-to-have. What it needs to cover.

Every one of these sits inside the package price, so there is nothing for you to buy at the gate. It is worth knowing anyway, because when you compare two quotes, the group size is the one thing you can ask about and check.

How much does gear rental cost for a Rinjani trek?
Camping gear (tent, sleeping bag and mat) is already included in every package.
