Who you book with

Your trek, your booking and your deposit are all with Mount Rinjani Adventures (CV. Mount Rinjani Adventures, registration S.2653KT/WPJ.31/KPO603/2017), the registered trekking company of Zainal and his team in Sembalun, Lombok (Indonesia). In these terms, "we" means Mount Rinjani Adventures. We organise and run every trek: the guide, the porters, the transport, the guesthouse night, the food and the park permits.

How booking works

  1. You send a booking request through the website or WhatsApp. This is free and nothing is charged.
  2. We confirm your date, usually the same day.
  3. You pay a deposit of USD 30 per person through a secure payment link. The deposit is part of the trek price, not an extra on top of it. The moment it arrives, your spot is locked in.
  4. The rest of the trek price is paid in cash to your guide team on arrival: the amount in US dollars, paid in Indonesian rupiah (IDR), the local currency.

Changes and cancellations

  1. Changing your date is free. Plans shift, boats get cancelled. Message us and we move your trek, even if your park permit has already been bought. Permits are issued per person for one fixed date and cannot be transferred, so a new date means buying a new one, and we carry that cost. If you ever need to move a second time, that one costs USD 30 per person, because another permit has to be bought.
  2. The deposit is not refundable, because arrangements for your trek start as soon as it arrives. But it never expires worthless: it stays valid for 12 months for any new date.
  3. If the park closes or we have to cancel (weather, volcanic activity), you get everything back, in full.

On the mountain

  1. Rinjani is a real mountain. The summit is 3,726 metres, the trail is steep and loose in places, nights are cold, and the weather and the volcano can change plans at short notice. You take part at your own risk.
  2. Your health is yours to judge. Tell us before the trek about any medical condition, injury or pregnancy. If you are unsure whether you are fit for it, ask your doctor first.
  3. The guide decides on safety. Your guide can change the route, the pace or the plan, or turn back, when weather, the trail, the park rules or someone's health ask for it. Please follow those decisions.
  4. Insurance is required. Every trekker brings their own travel insurance that covers trekking up to 3,726 metres, including a helicopter evacuation, or takes the park's premium insurance on arrival (see the park rules). We check your own policy before the permits are arranged.

Payments

Your online deposit is collected on behalf of Mount Rinjani Adventures by its payment agent and processed securely through Mollie. The payment agent only collects the deposit; it does not organise or run the treks. The rest of the trek price is paid in cash to your guide team when you arrive. Prices shown are per person totals in US dollars (deposit and cash together) and include everything listed on the trek pages: transport, the guesthouse night before the trek, meals, camping gear, guides, porters, and park fees. Travel insurance is not included.
